IMadeThat.com

The communications team at the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) developed a creative plan to generate social media buzz to promote architecture education. ACSA’s “I Made That” campaign encourages students to share images of their work on Twitter, Instagram or Vine, using the hashag #IMadeThat. ACSA chose Punch Digital Strategies to design and develop IMadeThat.com, a responsive website that brings the campaign’s social media activity together into one place.

Project Background

ACSA is a Washington-DC based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the quality of architectural education across the nation. The ACSA’s latest campaign, “I Made That,” gave architecture students a social outlet to share their work and inspiration, and connect with other students and architecture firms. ACSA needed a central resource to aggregate all social activity around the hashtag #IMadeThat – and it needed to be completed quickly to unveil at an upcoming conference.

Punch Solution

We moved quickly and efficiently from the outset, meeting with ACSA leaders to outline project goals and user actions. Then we developed the information architecture and wireframe prototype. We designed the site on a responsive grid, to provide mobile, tablet and desktop users with the best possible experience. We developed a social media aggregator by customizing a third-party tool that allows ACSA team to have the oversight to curate and approve content before it is shown on the site. The project included:

  • User persona strategy
  • Rapid prototyping and wireframe
  • Responsive design
  • Integration of third-party tools
  • CRM integration
  • Blog functionality

Outcome

By collaborating closely with ACSA team, we delivered IMadeThat.com on deadline, with robust features and an elegant design that reflects ACSA’s mission and captures the look and feel of the campaign. Since the site has launched, the social activity around the #IMadeThat hashtag has increased and students have a new resource for exploring the world of architecture and the beauty of the made world.
