About This Role
The Copywriter is a critical creative partner to our clients and internal teams. You’ll be responsible for crafting compelling, on-brand messaging that spans a wide range of formats—from snappy headlines and ad copy to long-form thought leadership, video scripts, and full brand narratives. Whether you’re launching a cybersecurity startup or refreshing a government contractor’s voice, your words will help shape how brands speak—and how audiences respond.
This role reports to Punch’s Associate Creative Director of Copy and works closely with strategists, designers, and project managers to bring ideas to life across campaigns and deliverables.
What You’ll Do
- Write clear, impactful copy across a variety of formats—web, brand messaging, video, social, ads, and more
- Translate brand strategy and positioning into tone-of-voice guidelines and messaging frameworks
- Collaborate with designers and strategists to develop integrated creative solutions
- Review and revise work based on client feedback and internal critique
- Contribute to brainstorming and concept development for client pitches and campaigns
- Ensure every piece of content is aligned with the client’s voice, goals, and audience
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Communicate clearly with project teams to meet deadlines and creative expectations
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of copywriting experience—preferably in an agency, tech, or B2B/B2G environment
- A sharp, strategic writing style—you know how to be clear, creative, and concise
- Experience crafting messaging for diverse audiences across industries
- Comfort writing in different voices and adapting tone to fit the brand
- An eye for detail—you’re as strong in grammar and structure as you are in concepting
- Collaborative energy—you enjoy creative problem-solving with a team
- The ability to take feedback, iterate quickly, and deliver polished results
- Familiarity with tools like Google Docs, Figma, or Asana
Bonus Points
- Experience writing for cybersecurity, SaaS, or AI brands
- Background in brand messaging, naming, or positioning work
- Scriptwriting or storytelling for video, animation, or motion content
- Understanding of SEO principles and performance-driven content
- Journalism, PR, or editorial experience
