About This Role
The Strategist serves as a vital partner to our clients, ensuring that every piece of work that makes it into their hands aligns with their strategic goals — and adds just the right amount of PUNCH. You’ll dig deep to understand each client’s business, challenges, and ambitions—then help shape bold, effective solutions that drive the right results. You’ll also play a key role in advising team members to ensure both client and agency success.This role reports to Punch’s Associate Director of Strategy and works closely with Customer Success Managers and the broader creative team to bring big ideas to life.
What You’ll Do
- Lead thoughtful, focused discovery sessions that uncover client goals, challenges, and opportunities
- Develop strategic messaging and positioning recommendations—whether for early-stage startups finding their voice or established brands ready for reinvention.
- Conduct research, competitive audits, and interviews with stakeholders and customers to inform brand directions
- Build brand and campaign strategies, then partner with creative teams to bring them to life through compelling copy, design, and production
- Partner with the Client Success team to help clients achieve their goals and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with Punch
- Review creative work to ensure it meets high standards of quality, consistency, and strategic alignment
- Champion the client’s voice internally—advising internal teams and ensuring client needs and goals stay at the forefront
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and be seen as a reliable, go-to strategic advisor
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in brand, marketing, or creative strategy—whether at an agency or in-house
- Strong writing and presentation skills—you know how to explain your thinking and bring others along with you
- A quick learner—you ramp up fast and feel comfortable stepping into new industries or challenges
- Curious and empathetic—you have a genuine interest in doing great work with good people
- Versatile—you’re confident working across different types of clients, industries, and project sizes
- Self-directed and dependable—you take initiative, thrive in ambiguity, and follow through
- Comfortable using tools like Figma, Asana, or similar to collaborate with others
Bonus Points
- Prior agency or consultancy experience
- Experience or knowledge in cybersecurity and/or AI
- Experience in product marketing
- Experience in performance marketing or demand gen
